Owner Arjen Bloem started PBF in 2007, having worked in the industry since the 1980s. Today, we employ 14 painters and five gib stoppers and our senior management team holds around 150 years’ collective experience. Our team is recognised for doing what it says, and completing projects to the highest standard in the agreed timeframe.

Arjen Bloem, Managing Director
Arjen has been in the industry since the 1980s, working his way up to being a project manager for a construction company. In 1991 he stepped out and started his own business, which has grown into an award-winning company. Arjen’s goal is for PBF to be known as New Zealand’s premier painting and plasterboard company by delivering unrivalled quality and service. Arjen is also a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors, which promotes excellence in corporate governance, and has 17 years’ experience in professional sales and product management.
Anoushka Bloem - Legal / Commercial
Anoushka manages legal and commercial issues and provides strategic support for the business. On top of her own legal career she also looks after the three beautiful children she shares with PBF director Arjen.
Lance Tomsett, Sales
Lance came to PBF with more than two decades of experience in sales and management. With an obvious enthusiasm and passion for people, he enjoys meeting prospective clients to discuss their projects. He believes it’s paramount to get the job done right the first time. Outside of work Lance is a keen foodie and a committed family man with nine grandchildren.
Cherie Jones, Office Manager
Cherie runs our North Shore office and looks after the accounts and invoicing. With extensive experience in office management for contracting businesses, Cherie is an organisational extraordinaire.
Ruel Ciubal, Project Manager
Ruel first worked for PBF from 2009 to 2011 and at that time became known as our small job specialist. He re-joined the team in 2013 and manages quality levels of small jobs, making sure they’re completed on time and to the highest standard.
Dave George, Project Manager
Dave is a senior project manager who’s been in the Auckland plasterboard field for more than two decades. Calm and collected under pressure, Dave has a knack for working with his team to solve the client’s problems. Outside of work he enjoys hunting kingfish and spending time on his family farm in the Coromandel.
